This is grand country, rugged and spectacular, its foods all wild. It is cold, wet and stormy with the natural vegetation of mountain forest and mixed lowland forest for the most part intact.

Contemporary, distinctive regional foods include: Wapiti, red and white tailed deer, whitebait, trout, crayfish, blue cod, and tourists.
